Students will explore and be inspired to pursue STEM & the Arts at the Summer Institute and connect to Hawai’i’s natural resources and wahi pana through culturally grounded, hands-on activities.

Students build cultural and tech skills for future explorations into Indigenous Innovation and Entrepreneurship, ending with a digital display of how our students envision the future of their community.

A summer internship program which include activities relevant to the stewardship of Heʻeia Fishpond, where learners will support existing programs on-site with restoration, education, and resource distribution.

A program for young keiki and their mākua or kūpuna to grow ʻōiwi leaders, build literacy and STEM skills, learn ʻoli, mele, and how to make kapa, and experience working in a loʻi.

Haumāna will learn the moʻolelo and history of their mokupuni through hands-on experiences unique to each island.

Students will learn about navigation, moʻolelo, different kinds of Indigenous technology, people & worlds they inhabit.

Learners will connect to their culture through moʻolelo, hoe waʻa, kilo and hana noʻeau at Keʻehi.

A summer program with an emphasis on place-based, hands-on cultural experiences, community service projects and character development. Because program will be run in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, preference will be given to keiki that attend Kawaikini or are known to be ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi speakers.

Students will first learn inoa and wahi pana moʻolelo then integrate in a deeper practice of observing the balance that exists ma uka, ma kai and everywhere in between.

Participants will learn lawai'a traditions with discussions around marine management practices, conservation, monitoring, and food security.

An experiential learning program that engages keiki in authentic Hawaiian culture, Aloha ‘Āina and the arts, with the intent of inspiring future generations of ‘õiwi leaders.

Students will engage in environmental conservation of the mauka and makai resources in the ahupuaʻa of Kawailoa.

Participants who completed the Spring training will man an informational booth about Hawaiʻi and Aloha ʻĀina and present as leaders of a cultural workshop on Hawaiian practices and aloha ʻāina issues at the Ola i ka ʻĀina - Mohala Nā Pua: Hōʻaʻala hōʻike summer event.

An ʻĀina-based learning program to connect high school students, college students, and kumu through historical, cultural and environmental lenses.

An 8 week, in-person opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on experience in teaching and facilitating ʻāina-based experiences for elementary learners.

Haumāna will learn how to build hale through ʻŌlelo Hawaii.

Students will learn the skills, moʻolelo, mele and hula that support and encourage mauli ola through sustainable practices.

This program will engage keiki and their ʻohana in hands-on learning through ʻāina-based education, including community gardening, arts and crafts, storytelling through mele and hula, lessons with local kūpuna, and huakaʻi.

Students will complete an intensive loʻi restoration and learn how to kuʻi paʻiʻai and poi in our Summer program that explores kalo farming as a small business and/or to strengthen ʻohana food systems.

I Ola Iā Mauliola inspires each youth and their family members to improve and sustain their health and well-being by promoting healthier habits in diet, physical activity, leadership, and family engagement.

Opportunities for older ʻōpio (15-18 yrs old) to participate in a Jr. Leader role in our ʻāina education program.

Learners will experience life as a mahiʻai kalo by kilo wai, placement of loʻi, ideal habitat for kalo growth, preparation of fertilizers, kalo varieties identification and uses and kalo preparation.

Hands-on, place-based learning including a take-home construction project, culinary experiences, honey extraction and tasting, planting, harvesting, and cultivating.

Engage in culture/place-based lessons on daily huakaʻi to apply ʻike Hawaiʻi, learn critical thinking & communication skills to serve as alakaʻi for community, embrace learning, and discover passions.

A 4-week Summer Camp exploring fishing practices, nearshore ecosystem health, traditional dry stack methods, mele, oli, hula and mo'olelo of Waimānalo

Hands-on learning that explores traditional Hawaiian dyeing, lauhala weaving, lei making, kilo, and basic navigation.

The Kula Kauwela Hawaiian language summer school is a 20-day program, including huakaʻi to learn about Molokaʻi wahi pana.

Strengthening pilina with the Waimānalo kaiāulu, Waimānalo Aloha ʻĀina summer programs provide the kahua for haumāna to fulfill their kuleana of addressing the most pressing local and global issues.
