Ulu Aʻe Learning Center

The Hana ‘I‘o Dive and Fish Program is a 5 day, 4 night ocean skills and food preparation program for middle school students who want to grow their knowledge and skills in authentic ocean and food practices. Students will learn to dive, spear fish and prepare and cook fish.

Hawai‘i Green Collar Institute (HGCI) is a 5-day program that will build our next generationʻs capacity in ‘āina-based careers. HGCI aims to expose local haumāna to “green” careers that benefit Hawai‘i’s environment and people through hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.

High school students will participate in this new program examining the interconnected ahupuaʻa system, from mauka to makai. Students will participate in community-based activities steeped in aloha ʻāina, hiking upland, exploring the ocean by waʻa, and examining Loko Ea.
